This Privacy Policy explains what information FancyTextGenie ("we", "us") collects when you use fancytextgenie.com and how it is used. In short: the text you type into our tools never leaves your device.
1. Text you enter
All text conversion happens in your web browser using JavaScript. The text you type or paste into our generators is not sent to our servers, not stored by us and not shared with anyone.
2. Information stored on your device
We use your browser's local storage to remember a few preferences on your own device:
- your favourite styles (
ftg-favs), - your recently copied text (
ftg-recent), - your light or dark theme choice (
ftg-theme), - if we are testing two versions of a page design, which version you see (
ftg-exp).
This information stays in your browser and is never sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
3. Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working, and are kept only for a limited period.
4. Analytics
We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are popular and which styles are copied most often, so we can improve our tools. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location, device type and how long you stay. We do not send the text you type to Google Analytics. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
5. Advertising
We may show ads served by Google AdSense and its partners to keep our tools free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Our own tools do not need cookies to work. Cookies may be set by the analytics and advertising services described above. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before these cookies are used. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
7. Children's privacy
Our tools are suitable for general audiences, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we do not ask for names, emails or accounts, we do not hold personal profiles of any user.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not collect your text or require accounts, most of this data is held by the third-party services listed above. Contact us if you have any request and we will help.

Our pages may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
10. Messages you send us
When you use the contact form or the Report an error form, what you write (and your email address, if you give one) is sent to us by email so we can read and answer it. We use it only to reply and to fix the problem you reported, and we delete it when it is no longer needed. To limit spam, our server keeps a short-lived counter of how many messages came from your connection in the last hour; it stores a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, not the address itself, and each entry expires after an hour.
11. Security
- Your text stays on your device. The tools convert, count and copy text in your browser. Nothing you type into a tool is uploaded.
- No accounts. We do not ask you to sign up, so we hold no passwords or profiles.
- Encrypted connections. The live site is served over HTTPS, which encrypts the connection between your browser and our server.
- Protected pages. Our pages cannot be shown inside other websites' frames (except our embeddable widget), which protects against click-jacking.
- Forms. Contact and error-report messages are checked for spam and sent to us by email; they are not published.
